What driver's license do I need for a 45 km/h e-chopper?
For our 45 km/h e-choppers, you'll need at least a Class AM driver's license (moped license, from 16 years old) or a regular Class B car driver's license – that's perfectly sufficient. You don't need a motorcycle license. The minimum age is 16 years (with AM) or 18 years (with Class B).
Do I have to register the e-chopper with the Department of Motor Vehicles?
No – that's one of the biggest advantages. E-choppers with a speed of 45 km/h are legally considered mopeds and do not require registration with the vehicle registration office. You only register the vehicle with a car insurance company and receive an insurance plate. No MOT appointment, no vehicle title, no bureaucratic effort. All COC documents (EU Declaration of Conformity) for insurance registration are supplied with the vehicle.
How much does insurance for an e-chopper cost per year?
In Germany, liability insurance for a 45 km/h e-chopper costs approximately €40-80 per year, depending on the provider, age, and place of residence. You can easily apply for the insurance license plate online with any common car insurance provider, and it will be sent to you by post. There is no vehicle tax.
How long does delivery take and what does shipping cost?
Delivery within Germany is free of charge and usually takes 3-5 working days. After placing your order, you will receive a shipping confirmation with a tracking link. The vehicle is delivered fully assembled and ready to ride – including all registration documents (COC document, invoice, technical data).
What are the running costs of the e-chopper?
The running costs are extremely low: electricity costs approx. €1 per 100 km, insurance approx. €40–80/year, no vehicle tax, no oil changes, no TÜV inspection. Normal wear parts like brakes and tires are incurred as with any vehicle. Compared to a car – approx. €700/month according to ADAC – the e-chopper is one of the cheapest ways to stay mobile.
What kind of warranty do I get and can I return the vehicle?
We offer a 2-year warranty on all our e-choppers. In addition, the statutory right of withdrawal applies: you can return the vehicle within 30 days without giving any reasons. Spare parts and accessories are available from us in the long term – so you are well taken care of even after your purchase.
Where can I get my e-chopper serviced or repaired?
E-choppers are very low-maintenance thanks to their electric drive – no oil changes, no spark plugs, no carburetors. If necessary, you can contact our customer service at any time. We will help you choose spare parts and assist you with repair questions. All common spare parts are available from us and can be ordered long-term.
